ABOUT BEIRA
BEIRA was founded in Rio de Janeiro in 2013 by designer Lívia Cunha Campos shortly after graduating in Industrial Design from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). The name BEIRA, meaning edge in Portuguese, emerged during her studies while observing drawings, materials and the subtle transitions between surfaces. That line where one surface meets another became a metaphor for the brand itself–a place where technique and sensitivity, structure and material, construction and expression coexist.
From its inception, BEIRA has been guided by a simple question: Why create something?
Before becoming clothing, every garment begins as a flat piece of fabric filled with possibilities. The role of the atelier is to transform that material into objects that reveal the intelligence, research and craftsmanship embedded in their construction.
Every collection is designed, developed and produced entirely within our Rio de Janeiro atelier, where every stage–from the first pattern to the final stitch–remains under the same creative vision.
DEVELOPMENT
Since its inception, BEIRA has been grounded in the conviction that a garment can be conceived with the same technical, structural, and functional rigor devoted to the development of a design object. Each creation begins with an essential question: Why create something?
Before the garment, there is the fabric in its raw state — a surface filled with possibilities. The work of the atelier lies in transforming this raw material into pieces that reveal, through their very construction, the research, technical intelligence, and time devoted to the creative process.
All collections are developed and produced in our atelier in Rio de Janeiro, preserving a small-scale approach to production in which every stage remains under the same creative eye, from the first line of the pattern to the final stitch.
OUR ATELIER
Creation, pattern making, development and production all take place under one roof. Maintaining every stage of production internally allows each garment to evolve continuously throughout its development while preserving complete control over quality and craftsmanship.
Production remains intentionally small. Rather than following traditional fashion calendars, many pieces are produced to order, allowing each creation the time required to be properly made.
The atelier is open to visitors by appointment.
